I remember a couple years back me and a friend had a question about bees, so we emailed an entomologist at a small university. He was so happy to talk about it! I once emailed a professor about a hard to find book she wrote, and she sent me a copy :) Talk to people!!!
Sweetest email I have ever received, after I plucked up enough courage to ask my professor what his favourite books are in person, he later sent me this message, kindness does persist โน๏ธ๐
I had the opportunity to interview the host of one of my favorite podcasts for class and I never would have gotten to hear all of their wisdom had I not sent that initial message! Even the ones that feel like long shots are worth writing, you never know who'll respond!
Sometimes, if my cat really wants my attention, heโll grab my leg loosely and bite me, where it hurts for a bit but leaves no mark nor blood. Itโs not quite fun- but I think it serves a meaningful place in life
