I present to you my favorite Barbie transformations based on how much the dress and/or the moment made me gasp. In case you want to judge other transformations for yourself, here's a whole playlist of only Barbie transformations from her movies.
Barbie as Rapunzel: she said SHIMMER. she said Versace but make it medieval. If Donatella could see this, she would give her stamp of approval. Donatella VERSACE 💜. Also, THE HAIR.
Barbie in the Nutcracker: It's pink and glittery and it has sparkles. What else could you expect from a Barbie transformation????
Barbie of Swan Lake: the transformation itself didn't make me gasp but the dress is beautiful and I love the motif of feathers that goes throughout. It could be on the nose for some but I love it. I also have a special place in my heart for that sequence knowing that they utilized real ballerinas to get the animation right, which made me respect it even more. I used to obsessively watch this movie as a kid along with Rapunzel and the Magic of Pegasus.
Barbie and the Magic of Pegasus: ruining a man's life by yassifying yourself à la Glinda from Wicked? Yasssss.
Barbie in The 12 Dancing Princesses : again, love the dancing sequence and the details displayed in the dresses. They look subtle, yet intricate, especially around the neck area. I love it.

Where have I been?! This is the BEST movie I’ve seen in a long time. The tone is so nuanced, and the careful choices, excellent writing and great performances make this feel like a movie that could have been made yesterday. Sadly, the story feels too relevant today (the world slips into chaos and the internet’s our cabaret!).
Liza Minnelli is positively DAZZLING. Okay, I get it now!!

being traditionally cool is really quite boring and iterative, and it’s actually very cool and sexy to geek out about something you like or share bits of knowledge on a topic you’re passionate about

HAPPY INTERNATIONAL WORKER’S DAY!!!! i love having a union, i love being a union steward and getting to support my unit. when my union won its contract, i got a pay bump, better benefits, and increased protection as a worker. 🥳 unions help address racial and gender pay gaps, issues workplaces impose on families and those having kids, addressing unsafe conditions, plus things like better health insurance, wages and overtime, weingarten rights to representation, and more!!! if you don’t have a union but are thinking about forming one, check out AFL-CIO’s page (linked) or Emergency Workplace Organizing Committee. there’s always more power in a union!! ✊🥖🌹
