it‘s way easier to hyperfocus on a thing if it’s not yours! my boyfriend left his bass at my apartment and the fact that i will soon not have it anymore makes me want to play it all the time!! (this is good bc idk how to play the bass yet)
idk why i have always been dogshit at getting strum patterns down but i looove to finger pick. getting a good roll down pat and then switching up the strings, playing around with the bass line, and just riffing around while changing up the chords is so much more fun than strumming to me
Ok so I’m dogshit at playing bass but it makes me feel like a toddler who’s recently discovered that piano keys make noise and I like having that sort of childish wonder abt making music again
this is especially true in college, where there are innumerable student orgs centered on a common interest, but is also true of graduate life! my brother is 24 living in nashville & goes to run clubs, film clubs, and sports clubs to make friends :)
