I have over 1,000 liked songs on Spotify spanning from what feels like a lifetime of music listening. I’ve currently been in a little bit of a music slump, so throwing on my liked songs and just seeing what pops up has been a really fun reset for me. I’m rediscovering a lot of old favorites.

one of the few good things left about spotify. it’s helped me discover so much great music, a lot of which have become very influential for me. and of course there will be some awful songs on there but the more consistent you are with it, the better overall quality you seem to get weekly.

my spotify got so bad and repetitive i had to start seeking out opportunities of discovery (listening to my discover weekly, new release genre playlists on friday)
once you find a song you like start digging into that artist and similar artists on their page and just starting saving, following, and building a discovery playlist
eventually your daylist and other for you playlists will start picking up the new vibe you just have to put in the work

i saw anya taylor joy with one so then i took my mom's old one. it's honestly so convenient and the extra step it takes to open my phone has decreased my phone use time by maybe 10%.
