she is such a delight and is incredibly authentic and supportive of local bands/musicians in the tallahassee area! she pops out to local shows all the time and is seen often at small business coffee shops!
i work for an entertainment venue and she was at one of our most recent concerts celebrating the campus radio station! her friend (sarah morrison) was performing and ethel brought her flowers!! 💐

kobe highly recommend her most popular album/story which is preachers daughter! it follows the story of the character “ethel cain” and it’s beautifully written and thought out! a tragic story too though!

Having nice friends put you on the door for gigs (and also paying for gigs)
I went to four!!!!! Shows this week. All beautiful and magical and like a 10 min walk from my house.

basking in the glow of playing a show
There's a neat kombucha bar / music venue in town, and it's one of my favorite places to see music. Pretty much exclusively indie/punk shows, but a friend asked us to play there, and we brought a very different vibe with our old time/bluegrass/folk stuff. Everyone was so nice, and it was fun to merge two sort of different worlds that share a DIY ethos

i think people don’t utilize their local libraries enough when they’re such wonderful resources!
one of my favorite things to stem from the library and library cards is the app “libby”! it’s an amazing way to get free books, audiobooks, and magazines digitally.
completely free if you have a library card (which are also totally free!)
go support your local library!
