I don't remember if I've read the whole thing so this is not an endorsement of it. Anyway it's pretty interesting. It's about biology but written for an interested, but not necessarily trailed, audience.

Reading an entire book from the pov of the main subject in a science experiment is fun, but now make the subject go from forrest gump level of intelligence to surpassing college professors.

philosophical novel that mainly takes shape as a telepathic socratic dialogue between a sentient gorilla professor named Ishmael, and an unnamed narrator human student. the book explores things like the nature of story, myth, culture, man’s relation to other animals, language, and the subject Ishmael says he teaches: “captivity.” If you like Life of Pi, (another one of my favorites, which shows up as a related rec for this ask), you ought to read Ishmael.

One of the few apps with no ephemeral "story" feature or whatever so you don't need to check it every 24 hours. Cherish this.

It's just like John Swartzwelder said: "Since writing is very hard and rewriting is comparatively easy and rather fun, I always write my scripts all the way through as fast as I can, the first day, if possible […] Then the next day, when I get up, the script’s been written. It’s lousy, but it’s a script. The hard part is done."
