I spent the morning helping box up 3,500 Thanksgiving meals for people in need in my community! It was really nice I highly recommend volunteering at your local food bank, soup kitchen, shelter, etc to give back this holiday! 💌
beyond the idea that philanthropy in its purest form doesn't really exist as at the very least one gets to have the feeling of doing something good for others- all should try to do something. volunteer at your local charity shop, donate to food or clothing drives, work at a helpline, serve food at a shelter one night. help the world. there are endless ways. and for those with 'no time': five hours of TikTok scrolling is that time.
I have recently been volunteering at a charity shop on my street. I love it, I love being a part of my own area and meeting the people who live near me. There's something about a charity shop that draws wonderfully interesting people who really, really want to chat. It's lovely and I love valuing and being valued. Plus, my manager always gives me chocolate biscuits.
My dad teases me about how when I was a little kid, my favorite thing to do when I was on the landline phone with somebody—be it a relative or one of my best friends—was to breathlessly describe the things that were in my bedroom so that they could have a mental picture of everything I loved and chose to surround myself with, and where I sat at that moment in time. Perfectly Imperfect reminds me of that so thanks for always listening and for sharing with me too 💌
