It’s the difference between complaining about how you waste too much money eating out, and complaining about how it wastes too much money to eat out. My mom was right: there’s food at home

Maybe I’m posting this to justify my spending habits, or maybe I’m just ~correct~. Sometimes what I have in my house and the amount of available energy I have simply isn’t enough to satisfy the very specific craving I have that I just KNOW is the elixir to all my problems in that moment. Money is fake, fuck it, I’m hungry.

It depends where you live with how easy this is to implement but: No uber eats or postmates. Bring your lunch to work. Cook all meals at home. Coffee/alcohol at home. I don’t really follow this advice but i have in the past and it definitely adds up. It’s also about balance. Sometimes you need to treat yourself and have a lil fun. When you do start saving a little you can also open a hysa (high yield savings account). It is super easy and you don’t have to go to a physical bank. You can earn around 5% on your savings. Kind of nice to have your savings earn you a little extra money.

No. You do not need to hire a private vehicle for your poke bowl. I’m being so fr. learn how to grocery shop n save your coin. If you want to get food at a restaurant really badly then do a pick up order and drive there yourself. Stop giving yourself the instant gratification of having food being brought to your doorstep every meal. It’s sooooooo expensive and it is frying your dopamine receptors even more. convenience is the devil. No matter what you say, NO you are NOT saving money on food by hiring a deliver driver twice a day. Go add up every single order you’ve done since the year started, remember how much you actually enjoyed the food you received, and then tell me that that is still worth it. If you did the minimum of $12 orders twice a day every day for a 30 day month, you would be spending $720 WITHOUT ADDING A TIP. Like come on. They don’t even make your stuff right half the time, are always forgetting items, and the drivers never know where they’re going and end up dropping your food off at a random door. Go to the grocery store and spend $300 a month on groceries for yourself instead of $500-700 on those shitty meals that make you feel tired and depressed after you eat them.
