I have 0 reasons to offer for not getting a tattoo beyond the thought that if you’re looking for someone to stop you, maybe your brain is trying to tell you something.
I don’t regret any of my tattoos and I didn’t give a single thought to what anyone else might say or react when I got them—I think that was the key for knowing I was making the right choice for me.

my philosophy? don’t worry about it. sure, you’re not super into, say, supernatural anymore. maybe that tattoo doesn’t feel relevant to your identity now. but clearly at some point it was really really important to you and that’s sort of beautiful, right? i think we should all extend our past selves some grace and let our bodies be an appreciated historical record

Not all tattoos need to have symbolic meaning. Sometimes it’s all about getting something permanently affixed to your body just because it appeals to you; you don’t have to overthink or justify a tattoo. I have seven tattoos and only ONE of them actually means something to me lol. Do it for the fun of it!

When thinking about tattoos, it is difficult to decide what I want since they all look cool and my style changes so often and everything is so cool and awesome. I’ve thought of a possible solution, which is: get tattoos based on my history and things that have shaped me as a person. Since history is in the past, it never changes, and I have to accept it whether it’s ink on my body or not. I’m taking inspiration from Polynesian culture here.

at least casually. don’t delete the accounts but don’t have the apps on your phone either.
rediscover your love of reading thru the magic of recognizing titles strangers are holding on the subway. become a subway reader.
don’t use sound as an escape from your thoughts/feelings/surroundings. grocery shopping without headphones is actually kind of beautiful!
pick up a new hobby or two or three. one of them should be something you’re not good at, and at least one should be no- or low-cost.
never. stop. learning. the library, the parks and rec department, and nearby museums offer great materials already but also usually have free lectures or courses.
go outside more. like, a lot more.
(took this much less literally, so apologies if it’s not what you’re looking for lol — as a narcoleptic I have no tips on how to Not Sleep since Sleep is basically my job)
