Wearing “nicest” clothes to cope with challenging day ahead
• Grandma’s in the hospital and I’m emotional about it even though she’s recovering well • Going to drive a few hours and walk my obsessive compulsive germaphobic ass into the hospital to visit her and try to be Normal™ about it • Going to see several other extended family members there who are extremely happy about the election results and…idk how to deal with that yet tbh • Also due to start my period tomorrow lmfao • so at least I will LOOK NICE • (nobody tell me if this tactic doesn’t actually work, i want to believe 🛸)

Taking yourself to a fun lunch after the doctor/other horrible errand
Just had a physical for the first time in a couple years (yay healthcare being tied to employment in this country). I’m not that hungry and I need to get back to work, but goddamn it I am getting myself hand-pulled noods on this rainy day to reward myself. Highly helps with whatever you have to do if you can identify a new lunch spot to try afterwards.

Finally booked that doctor appointment I've been avoiding for a while, now I just have to go… Being an adult it's made sometimes of just these routinely obligations that you could come to see as boring but this one is straight-up anxiety inducing for me. But as Kierkegaard said (probably not in this exact words) it's better to know that not to know. I'm so chill about this. :)))))

bc it’s what I originally wanted when I first went to college at 17 but I was scared to make writing my job and got a B.S. in Nutrition instead lol
Now the goal is an eventual PhD in Victorian Literature but I’m just happy to have made it through this part at 32!
