Easy listening but with legs full of early woodsist fidelity and falsetto. A beautiful production from an amazing project. And you can’t stream it on Sp*tify 🖕I’m sure I’m not the first to rec this but happy to add my voice to the choir.

https://castexotic.com/realistikstudios/ Pitchfork says: “The sprawling and spectacular Cindy Lee album is an essential trove of music. Each song is like a foggy transmission from a rock’n’roll netherworld with its own ghostly canon of beloved hits.” To me, just a really solid album of moody lo-fi goodness, reminiscent of e6 and the like. Only available to stream for free on their site or YT or as a download. Donations suggested.

Well it’s just so beautiful. Rooted in the sound of ballads and doo-wop tunes from the late 50s, early 60s. But it adds so much more depth in songwriting (both lyrics annd arrangements) and incredible lead guitar work. My favorite songs so far are kingdom come, I have my doubts, to heal this wounded heart, golden microphone, and Durham city limit. [And a special thank you to cam for putting me on]

Perfectly executed, believable near-future apocalyptic (which is the best genre IMO) story that’s really bleak on its premise but then also a hopeful story. Acting is great, aesthetic is great, soundtrack is great, story is great, cinematography is really great. Above all, it has great rewatch potential and is memorable, which is my top criteria for movie recs because I can’t recommend a movie I don’t remember.
