With the new Mount Eerie coming out and it being a little more on the rocking side of Phil Elverum, I went back and was listening to this EP by them made back in 2006 that I got turned onto by an artist playlist by Spirit Was, a side project of LVL UP. "In Moonlight" was the original tune I got hooked on, "Don't Smoke" has been what I've been gravitating to recently.

Never went deep on microphones or mount eerie but now I am going deep. Listened to the glow pt.2 for the first time and it paralyzed me. Sat on my bed with noise cancelling headphones on and just sat still and listened. Musical paralysis, incredible stuff. This has also reignited my LOVE for Dear Nora, and why not throw some beat happening in there for a PNW triple threat.

I met Erin (@RIOTGRRRL) and Jake (@SLOWDAZZLE) last year after I started using PI.FYI—we organized a meetup before a Jonathan Richman show and immediately clicked over our shared taste in music and similar sensibilities. We started hanging out a lot and had some great times together. I’ve also gotten to know many of their friends, who are all really cool. Erin and Jake started dating a couple of months after the three of us became friends, but our group chat still pops off. Their friendship has meant a lot to me, especially since moving to NYC in 2023, and I really appreciate having them in my life.
