Today I was talking to something of a life coach, kind of a group mentorship session I attended, and one thing stuck with me. I was told that sometimes, we see the step we need to take towards actualizing our dreams, but we often worry or grow fearful of how our future self might mess up the opportunity, or fail, or disappoint. And the advice I was given, was to simply put some trust in your future self. Trust that the version of you after you take that initial step will have more passion, more experience, more dedication, and especially, will have the capability to solve whatever problems may arise at said point in the future. As someone who deals with thinking too far ahead and contemplating the bad outcomes, that was immense advice. Just trust who you are going to become to do what is needed and move forward. hope that helps!

given that you’ve already started the pivot, it seems like you just need a lil pep talk. here it goes: you are exactly the right age to be taking on new challenges. sure, theres some risk involved. but time is 100% on your side, and the fastest way to self-actualize is to operate outside your comfort zone. just take this one day at a time and don’t stress about the unknowable future. its a waste of energy you could be dedicating to learning and growing here in the present. it will work out. it usually always does.

First and foremost, all you need to make is the next decision. Don’t be trying to make a decision for the whole rest of your life, just the next one in front of you. Then you gotta keep in mind having trust and faith. No matter what decision you make, even if it is the wrong one, that is the right decision for you. Life will adjust to support you based on the decisions you are making. pick a path, trust your gut. Get past the anxiety. Your anxiety is going to cloud your judgment. Get quiet and wait for the water to clear to see what is underneath. I have found that when I am going in the wrong direction there are red flags, roadblocks, things that make it really difficult for me to keep taking that path and cause me to readjust. You just gotta pay attention. One of my favorite quotes is “when you make a commitment to life, life makes a commitment to you.“ You gotta get the momentum going for anything to even happen. You have to start in a direction to know if it’s the wrong one. Cast your net see what bites.

Whatever it is you’re wanting to do, just go for it. Give it your all. Even if it isn’t the best, do the best that you can do in this very moment. Failure means you get to try again with a different approach. Not everyone’s going to get what you do, and that’s okay there will be people who will. Don’t fear standing out or dim your own shine to match others, you’ll never know who you’ll inspire. Never stop learning or being curious, life is about exploration and discovery. And most importantly, it’s never too late to start over, reinvent yourself or chase a dream.

Been off this app lately cuz ive been busy opening an art gallery in my hometown (San Diego) called Deixis Gallery! Been such a wonderful experience so far. It’s so beautiful to see how community comes together to help with every step along the way. Friends came by and helped paint, do construction, a friend of mine built us some benches from scratch, and a bunch of amazing artists participated in the inaugural exhibition. So hyped, truly recommend. And shout out to allstnyc for the encouragement back when I first posted an ask about opening a gallery! 🤞🏿🤞🏿🤞🏿also if you find yourself in San Diego, make sure to stop by! @deixisgallery

Spent a month in a cabin in a rural town in Washington state and fell in love. Spent my days gardening, writing, cooking, working out with logs and trees, just living the most simple life. Being back in a city makes me sick to my stomach now and capitalistic 🤮. It sucks.
