in no particular order, here are some of my favourites!
β€’ delhi-6 - a.r. rahman πŸͺ” great movie, experimental, funky soundtrack which uses the best parts of sufi and classical indian music and blends them into modern beats β€’ when the pawn… - fiona apple 🍎 just her voice, it’s so evocative i love her
β€’ grace - jeff buckley 🌌 rip. this is such an angelic album; it had my back during my breakup (still does) β€’ folklore - taylor swift 🧦 ah yes, this one is music i fell in love with during the pandemic; it’s really written for the elder daughters with mommy issues β€’ desire, i want to turn into you - caroline polachek πŸš‰ a very sensory experience actually, it keeps my brain moving, and not to mention her insane vocals?? β€’ om shanti om - vishal-shekhar πŸ•‰οΈ my favourite bollywood movie, and a beautifully created soundtrack in which every song comes back to the same riff to keep you in the loop of the even more amazing plot. a must watch and a must listen!
β€’ charm - clairoπŸͺ» cozy, melancholic, loving and so beautiful, another healing album for me β€’ pretty. odd. - panic! at the disco β˜”οΈ nostalgic and memorable; this is the most beatles-y of their discography
β€’ rockstar - a.r. rahman 🎸 another insane album by him, very soulful, moving and essentially existential rock β€’ the stranger - billy joel 🎭 a classic, something i feel connects me and my dad :) just helps you confront your true self in a musical way β€’ aalas ka pedh - the local train 🚈 sooo full of love and heartbreak, this is a very balladic album <3
β€’ an evening with silk sonic - silk sonic πŸ“Ί this is shower listening for me; each songs melds into each other so well, but remains distinct !
