she is just so perfect 😩 literally whenever i see a renoir in a museum i get angry, they should replace every renoir w a cassatt. real depictions of real women rendered beautifully not just scary poorly painted caricatures of women and girls like renoir lmao

because most of the answers thus far are male painters — here are some of my fav female painters! mary cassatt (1844-1926) shona mcandrew (1990-) hilma af klint (1862-1944) leonora carrington (1917-2011) marie laurençin (1883-1956) others i like: georgia o’keefe, frida kahlo, elizabeth catlett, agnes pelton, tamara de lempicka, faith ringgold, paulina olowska, berthe morisot. and many more i am forgetting!
