I joined a writers club last year and I’ve been the most productive with my writing as I’ve ever been. Ive some more stuff published and my writing has improved. the structure of mine is that each week people read work in progress and receive crit and feedback from the group. other peoples feedback is invaluable in helping you find weak spots in your writing, finding confidence in areas you know you are right in, and getting advice and tips on where and how to publish. any group will be good but I’d recommend one that includes a lot of published and accomplished writers and/or a group you have to apply to and be accepted into with the quality of the work. I know it sounds snobby, but knowing that other writers are people who’s work are a good standard helps you trust them and their feedback will be strong - you’re also much more likely to attend if you don’t have to sit through bad writing!

I joined one last year and it’s been so incredibly important to me and my work. I recommend for any writer. having a community of people who can understand the way your mind works, getting critical feedback of your work (that we rarely get as adults out of education) - invaluable.

Taking cc classes/any sort of workshop for a hobby is an excellent way to meet friends. I found my writers group thru a creative writing class

I am by no means traditionally religious, but I fully understand how being in the presence of beautiful stained glass can feel like being with god. ALWAYS stop off at a church on the way if you think it might have good stained glass. The bluebells in the bottom right corner of this made me loose my breath for a moment.
