"What shoes are we wearing this fall" "What bag are we bringing to school?" "These are 7 must have shirts for next spring" "What colour stanley cup should i get next?" "Grwm to restock my fridge" "Restock my junk drawer" "These 5 jackets are a MUST for your winter outfits" "Grwm to restock my ice cabinet" "This is why being an outfit repeater is bad" Ohhhh brother, get a life! why does everything have to look pastel and clean 😭 Just buying one micro-trending item, especially from tiktok shop or temu/shein is so boring and i guarantee you that you absolutely do NOT need it.

People are absolutely riding out every single micro trend. From sambas (Don’t get me wrong I did own a pair) to those brazil polos, ppl are just wearing what they see will get them validation for being “on trend”. People post “what bags are we wearing this year“ or “are brandy Gina tops ugly I don’t want to throw mine away”, like just wear what you like!!! Also its not really about if the clothing item is trending or not, it’s more if you’re genuinely into it. I think a plus to TikTok being banned is that it could force people to find out their personal style, so yay !

allocating more than just a few pinterest ideas and aesthetics in order to curate a style that you’re confident in will make you stand out. whether you think that’s a good or bad thing, by “stand out” i mean people catch a glimpse of you and immediately know who you are based on how you dress. there’s nothing wrong with going with a trend if you like it, but it’s so painful to see people consume for the sake of consumption. i mean that’s a concept for a whole other rec in itself, but what i’m trying to get at is you don’t need to constantly use outfit inspo pics for outfit inspo. seek your surroundings, ponder your past, think about yourself as a piece of art, which you ultimately are. don’t avoid wearing the statement piece that a stranger would find weird, they’re probably just pissy. dress the fuck up on days you don’t need to just for the hell of it. and remember, don’t get discouraged if the first “crazy” fit you throw on looks like shit. it takes time to make art! and if you feel comfortable and beautiful in simpler articles, and you’re not into anything too bold or loud, still make it your look. art doesn’t have to be complex, but make each choice have purpose. why choose one blank white tee over another? is it a specific hue of white? does it compliment other features of your outfit? is it comfy as fuck? show that to people and make them know it’s you. you don’t need to dress to impress, but god if you bought that shirt only because your favorite influencer promoted it, or even worse if you bought it just because it was on a sale rack, you‘re disrespecting your canvas! it’s like pissing on a van gogh oil painting– it might look amazing but you can’t help but think about the fact that there’s piss on it. that brings me to probably the most widespread concern of consumers: cost. yes, higher quality products are going to cost more. it’s difficult in such a dense place like SoCal(where i’m from) to find cheap ANYTHING. i split a dozen dumplings for $20 the other day with a friend and i swear i could’ve called 911 on this food-influencer-aimed “chinese” restaurant for highway robbery. food was pretty good tho can’t lie. however, that doesn’t mean that it’s impossible to find incredible clothing from staple secondhand stores like Goodwill. several friends of mine have landed at their unique styles that can be associated directly to them, and their closets are mostly filled with Goodwill Bins finds. “ohhhh the Bins are so dirtyyy eewwww” yeah if you can’t dig through some used clothing for a while don’t complain about not being able to afford those $600 shitstained acne jeans. i might’ve gotten a little personal with that. lmk your thoughts on fashion and what it means to you! you know what fuck it just wear sweatpants a sweatshirt and flip flops life’s not that serious

I think the idea of hating on trendy things for the sake of wanting to be seen as different is very corny. I understand that not developing your own sense of style and copying whatever you see on tiktok or ig without adding your personal touch is an indicator of the lack of creativity, but that (imo) doesn't apply to people that genuinely like the item/style...If you for example like sambas or the leopard print baggy jeans and can get multiple uses out of them then that's great! you're not a microtrend final boss if you wear these items...

i have seen so many protests for palestine in the last few weeks and saw so many people not protecting themselves. here are some tips (this is all my opinion and not at all by a professional, if there even are professional protesters): (partially ripped off of tyrathetaurus on twitter) first of all: protesting is good. if you have the privilege to attend protests for a good cause, definitly do it. you can inform yourself for every protest in your city online, it really isnt that hard. just look for the protest, your city and than 2024, or whatever year. second: many countries have the right to assemble!! i know of USA and Germany. its a human right to assemble and protest. dont forget this! third: the police is NOT your friend! they are not there to protect protesters, they are there to make it more difficult for you. we have seen this in BLM protests, we are seeing this on uni and college campuses for palestine. whatever you do, try not to talk to police. 1. how to stay safe: - write phone numbers on your body, write your name on your body - DO NOT go alone to protest. always have at least one person with you. if you see someone alone, help them, stay with them, invite them to protest with you. - put your phone on airplane mode, disable Face ID and fingerprint, use a PIN-Code, change your phone case to a black one, if you dont have it already. - never take pictures of others with out their consent (this is self explainable). try not to take pictures and videos of people that could be easily recognised. - dont wear stuff that can be easily recognised. wear stuff that hides your face and hides your skin. - WEAR A MASK!!! not only can it protect your from diseases, it hides your face incredibly well. - DO NOT talk to anti-protesters and police. youre doing more harm than good. its better to ignore than argue. 2. what to do if stopped and/or detained by police; what to do if youre threatend with or under arrest - dont resist. they will attack you - make sure someone is recording you, the officer, and the situation - ask if youre free to leave. if yes, WALK AWAY - ask why you are being arrested. if they dont answer: ask for legal represantation - DO NOT give personal information, everything will be used against you. Your rights if youre stopped/detained: - you have to give consent for the police to search your stuff. if you do, everything will be used against you - police can pat you down if they suspect a weapon on you 3. what to do if you see someone being detained - film it. police cannot view or delete the footage - talk to the person, calm them down. they are likely nervous and scared 4. USE YOUR PRIVILEGE!!! help the disabled, help possible minors, find medics for harmed or someone having a panic/anxiety attack, help BiPOC if theyre harrassed, etc… 5. if you are a minor, you should NOT protest, unless your guardian or a trusted adult is with you. remember: DONT GO ALONE 6. if you cant participate, HELP THE PROTESTERS!!! drop off water, allergy friendly food and snacks, sharpies, cards with helpful phone numbers, masks, hand sanitizers, etc… 7. cant protest at all? BOYCOTT AND REPOST!!! doing even something small is ALWAYS better than doing nothing. inform yourself https://bdsmovement.net/ especially if you are a minor: reposting stuff online, telling and informing others about the situation and boycotting IS HELPING. please stay safe, go protest if possible, always help others.
