I ordered a lemon meringue and fresh berry tart (fruit tarts are their favorite)! I’m purposefully misdirecting by pretending I don’t know of any bakeries in our neighborhood that let you custom order tarts, so they have no idea what's coming >:)
All I wanted for my birthday this year was a strawberry shortcake. My friend planned to bake but ran out of time, so picked up instead (special shoutout Mia’s Brooklyn Bakery btw, was delicious). Sure I know it’s maaaybe a lil basic for a cake rec, BUT… yummmmm. I ate it for breakfast the next day and the one after that too.
i mentioned to my coworker the other day that the strawberry cake mix is my guilty pleasure and she made me a STRAWBERRY CAKE MIX BIRTHDAY CAKE FOR MY BIRTHDAY🥺🥺🥺 she even made a little raspberry compote filling and it’s so perfect i’ve literally eaten half of it by myself the last couple of nights. felt loved and seen with this gesture
Sounds like you like sweet treats so why not add some florals in the mix. -Rosemary + Nut short bread

-Literally any biscotti (works well with dried fruits)
-French meringue based cake with apple date caramel
My dad teases me about how when I was a little kid, my favorite thing to do when I was on the landline phone with somebody—be it a relative or one of my best friends—was to breathlessly describe the things that were in my bedroom so that they could have a mental picture of everything I loved and chose to surround myself with, and where I sat at that moment in time.
