apparently this animal has looked like this for 252 million years. that’s older than the island i was standing on when I took this picture (which is 21,000 years old, so older by like 252 million years). they are NOT crabs OR horse feet, but are closely related to scorpions and sea spiders, spiders and ticks. they are only found on the east coast of South Asia and the east coast of North America.
my mom’s friend can flip these over and tell you right away if it’s a boy or a girl
