I saw The Listeners at the Philadelphia Academy of Music a few weeks ago. It was an extraordinary experience. Opera is great. get dressed up and get some damn culture!
Opera Philadelphia is offering very low cost tickets this season, so I’ll see you at Don Giovanni in the spring.

Go to the opera at least once. Get dressed up with a friend, be chic, enjoy the people watching during intermission, laugh haughtily and bask in the good lighting. I was obsessed with the simplicity of the little black and orange subtitle screens in front of each seat. The crowd is older and sophisticated and judgemental. They were wearing the best clothes. The stage sets are grand and the singing will melt your brain. I don’t know about other cities but The Met has turned me into an opera person now.

My city has an org thats dedicated to getting younger people into the opera (it can feel p inaccessible) went to my first event last night and it was luxe and fun !!!

Saw la bohéme at the lyric today. Humans have been the same for centuries and I think this is one of the more pleasant ways to be reminded of that that.

I’ve been volunteering at a Victorian cemetery since 2016. We plant era-appropriate flowers and plants in the grave of people who have been dead for 100-200 years. It’s such a peaceful, meaningful way to remember the long dead and interact with nature. also I’m certain I have ghost friends who are coming through for me on the astral plane.
