We treat them like they’re enemies who we force together once a year for the holidays but actually they long for each other constantly. The thrill they feel when they lock eyes across the color wheel both dreaming of a life together. How they’d promise to love each other from their shades to their hues and hell sometimes they might quarrel but every marriage has its road bumps and they can always rely on a diplomatic pink or a delicate yellow to mediate. But no it cannot be because we live under the dictatorship of yuletide cheer.
A truly gorgeous color combo for those with trained sensibilities (made Amelie their personality at 15) to see the possibility beyond kelly green and candy apple red.
I had a therapist tell me that I have a very keen understanding of color and I said Sally, my father is an alcoholic stop changing the subject. So, if you have your doubts, trust me on this. Further evidence provided below.

i was opened minded after seeing this, so I tried to wear green pants with a grey rugby with red accents at work today and unfortunately I just look like a librarian frog

not for everybody but the hardest I ever felt about color was when I saw (SAW, like with more than two eyes) at the end of a hunt a big patch of fresh blood from a deer on recent snow in front of a dense pine forest at dusk in November. Everything is almost black but so rich at the same time.

The colors red and green in a non-christmas context

Christmas acts like it has this ownership over those colors, but wrong: Tomatoes! Strawberries! Roses! Olives! The list goes on. No more assuming I’m dressing for the holiday: I’m matching my fav vegetation.

picking a favorite color but only for a day

I used to feel like I didn’t know myself when someone would ask me what my favorite color was, and that I had to stick to it to maintain a consistant identity.
This became more problematic when my toddler started frequently asking what everyone’s favorite color was. She kind of insinuated that I didn’t like her favorite color because it was different than my own.
As a result, I instead started asking what her favorite color was today. Everyday was a new color and for a new reason, blue because of Bluey, pink like her favorite shoes, brown like mamas eyes, or green like her favorite stuffed animal.
Being a human is complex and sometimes I love sage green because it reminds me of my childhood bedroom. Other times I love a pale Purple like my clear game boy color. Sometimes it’s teal like an old American Apparel hoodie I wore to shreads. Sometimes it’s light orange because I really want a creamsicle.

RE: COW TOOLS (IRL)

I wish I could re-rec with an image but this is in reply to @MARIAMARIA’s rec. I had to dig way back in my photos to 2022 and find the clay cow tools I made. Unfortunately, I abandoned them so they never got fired but maybe I’ll re-visit the project once I can afford pottery classes again.
