whenever I have a lot of chores I make a list of 20 things to do (including breaks of varying lengths) and then roll my D20 to pick which task on the list I’m gonna do. Really helps with avoiding the whole starting-a-big-thing paralysis my ADHD gives me

Just helps me visualize more what I need to do, what the priorities are for the day, etc. I could do them monthly, weekly and daily depending on how overwhelmed and/or busy I am.

as an ADHD girly, I love my capacity to be interested in virtually anything, but that invariably leads to analysis paralysis when I’m deciding what to do. So I use an app (tiny decisions) and a website (pickerwheel) to make those decisions for me! Decisions are made AND I’ve made it into a game for myself! šŸ”„

i’ve always felt soooo bogged down by any kind of scheduled events in my life, even if it’s something fun that i should theoretically look forward to. call it ADHD, PDA autism, idk- but to mitigate this dread i find it helpful to write everything down in an online planner (use whatever system works for you). some tips: 1. writing down every little thing enables me to see it all in one place and not worry that there’s something else i’ve forgotten about. knowing i have even just one or two things coming up can feel overwhelming but as soon as i can actually see each item in front of me, it feels a lot less daunting. 2. looking at my schedule every morning helps me mentally prepare for the day 3. i used to spend so much energy thinking about an upcoming activity for the entire day leading up to it because i didn’t want to accidentally forget about it. now, i set alarms for when i need to start preparing for an activity- that way i can put it out of my mind until i actually need to start thinking about it. i know some people feel really burdened by planners/calendars (i refused for the longest time because i like spontaneity and not feeling tied down) but just give it a try and seeee

I was going through the Ignatian approach to education today (adapted from the Spiritual Exercises for those keeping track at home) and this tenet is just so good. St. Ignatius says that a person, ā€œought to be more eager to put a good interpretation on a neighbor’s statement than to condemn it.Further, if one cannot interpret it favorably,Ā one should ask how the other means it. If the meaning is wrong, one should correct the person with love; if this is not enough, one should search outĀ everyĀ  appropriate means through which, by understanding the statement in a good way,Ā it may be saved.ā€ This is very Hanlon’s razor (never attribute to malice what you can attribute to stupidity/ignorance) and I just feel like having a curious posture like this is a major slay and makes us better people

Like look at this shit. Just kinda sick tbh. The Eastern church invented maximalism which is just very slay for them (even if you aren't into God or whatever I feel like you can enjoy old buildings with tons of art everywhere)
