a fantastic new spin on a vampire tale. i love how it’s paired with a young adult coming of age and how well it writes the co-dependency of a mother and a daughter who’s had to grow up too fast. plus it’s queer! which is cool! i read this a few years ago at this point, but every fall i return to it.
I'm recommending this one specifically because it helped me really get back into reading after years of neglecting my literacy.
Super fun vampire novel about growing up, womanhood, family, art, and being true to yourself despite the consequences.
a fantastic surreal dive into the madness. set in a small town, a pair of siblings haunted by their artistic talent face work that terrifies. it’s a really fun lovecraftian romp! it’s a great fall season read.
