I’ve seen it go so right but also so wrong. 10x better than meeting on the apps imo, ya gotta let those love juices percolate babayyyyy, also who doesn’t love a little will they/won’t they honestly

its sooo much different just speaking to someone in person for the first time and actually attempting to make real connections that aren’t based on weird lil snippets of info, i will NEVER be back on The App

Dating apps are the easiest way to meet people nowadays. I have had some of the worst experiences ever in my life by meeting up with someone on a dating app, but also my current partner and I met on tinder and we have been together for a year and a half now. What I’ve learned is be completely transparent with your intentions, learn to spot the red flags that someone is lying about their intentions, and be comfortable with something not working out even if there was some chemistry over text. If you have brought it up with your therapist multiple times, it sounds like you need to just pull the trigger, and figure out definitively if it is for you. You can get 100,000 responses saying “go for it!” but only you know what actually works for you.

Thinking about Eva Illouz on how dating apps are disembodied and reduce people to being product-like. Nothing wrong if that's still your jam, but I like the idea of running into whomever you run into and letting life surprise you. The mutually longing looks in a stranger's eyes and a shared smile, the excitement! Human interaction - The spice of life!

I’m on the wrong side of 33 and i can tell you with utmost certainty that your 20s is the most chaotic time of your life and it’s amazing that anyone actually gets anything done during them. If you’re a type a planning type personality however I would recommend: - if you’re the sort of person who cares about diet and fitness, establish those routines in your 20s - live where you wanna live. Don’t live somewhere you hate because you think you’ll have more fun later cos you won’t - get a job that makes reliable money that you can tolerate and go back to if your dreams fall through. It doesn’t have to be a dream job it just has to pay the rent and not make you sad - don't smoke cigarettes - use sunscreen - be as cringe as you want. People expect it from you anyway. They won’t have as much patience in your 30s.

Walking into a formal celebration and taking in everyone looking and smelling good. The smell always stays with me the most—cologne, soap, hair product, cigarettes, leather, shoe polish. Everyone so clean and proud and a little bit shy. So special.
