I must admit that at first I didn’t enjoy my French class (le prof parle trop lentement), but it’s starting to grow on me! I’ve adopted the mindset that learning does not have to be the fast, competitive process I experienced at school. Language comes slowly and there is something to learn from everyone.

i learned it by living there from 14 to 20 because of circumstances. but integration (especially in a non-international school) is the reason I was able to become fluent at that age

My high school French teacher made me hate learning languages. But now that I’m an adult, I’ve realized I can learn whatever language I want, in whatever way works for me. So I’m healing my inner teenager now by learning a language I actually want to learn on my own terms. Also is it just me, or does anyone else kind of miss taking vocabulary tests?

In fact they’re working against you, especially women of colour. 84% of Tinder users are men, Bumble’s earnings have gone down hugely since its IPO (thereby further increasing their need to make a profit off subscriptions), Hinge is hiding hot people behind a paywall. People are sick of getting lovebombed and ghosted.
But we don’t need them—there’s more to life than apps—and people are beginning to seek connections in person again.
