There is no poisonous bracket mushroom. According to my father if you are lost in the woods, you can eat any bracket mushroom (mushroom that grows on trees/dead wood in a shelf-like pattern) but do your research. If you have access to any sort of book, internet, or other food, do NOT eat foraged food without identifying it. My grandfather got diverticulitis from eating a poisoned mushroom. Woodear are common edible bracket mushrooms found in North America and are popular in various eastern Asian cuisines. They are a common vegetable at hotpot restaurants. They have a phlegmy texture and are very high in copper, iron, and have even been found to be a natural anti-coagulant. I found, cooked, and ate these in my cheesy ttbeoki and did gag a bit but was filled with pride.
