so many people will tell you this but omg join groups, clubs, or whatever org you can. start one even! this is my biggest regret despite being in a few rn. you will not regret it because its a great venue to get to know people and theres nothing wring with doing some pruning if you feel overwhelmed! also if you cast a wide net you‘re odds of meeting people you click with are sooo much better

Clubs don’t end after high school and/or college. Join local clubs that match your interests. I joined a local rec center tennis team, snowboarding in the winter, go ride biking trails. A lot of my activities I go to solo but so do so many other people. I’ve met so many wonderful people this way. Just be open to meeting and talking to new people! Also, volunteering! I know two friends personally who are in long-term relationships with people they met this way. I haven’t been looking to date but you easily could meet your other half by being more involved in your community.

I'd suggest volunteering somewhere that is aligned with your values. You'll do good, experience a measure of personal satisfaction, and meet good people. Maybe the friends you make won't be of similar age and life stage as you, but their genuine friendships will place you in circles that lead to other connections.

a coffee shop, running club, pottery class, karaoke night etc. Whatever thing ur into. Go to places where you can do that thing regularly. Eventally and usually pretty organically you will begin to make friends with people. People who you probably have alot in common with because you already have a shared interest. Yay! I moved to a new state about a year ago knowing no one. I joined an improv class and now I have a whole network of people that I never expected to know. From that network you'll meet other people and so and so on.

It was really friendly and I felt very lucky to be so welcomed by a total stranger cat. I tried to see the name on its collar a few times but it was too squirmy. After a few minutes of watching it roll around, I felt that I spent enough time in a strangers driveway laughing at and scratching a cat. When I started walking though, it lazily followed me! I made sure it didn't get too far from where it stopped me and the rest of my walk felt a little lighter. (the mystery kitty)
