I don’t know if she’s very chic but she certainly works well. I had this clock as a kid and bought it again off eBay after running into your same problem. Plus it‘s a CD player / radio. The Dream Machine line has some more chic models like the CD855V, but those are harder to come by. At least as cheap as you can find a CD831.

the princess diaries 2 soundtrack lived in my discman. our living room radio was for radio disney. the boxy glitchy little alarm clock/radio/tape player in my bedroom was for jazz. when cds lived outside of my discman, i could offer them a home in my blue and orange nickelodeon karaoke machine (just a small boom box w/ attached microphone lol, pictured here). & when i was 11 i got an ipod shuffle that i wore around my neck and filled with songs mostly by lemon demon and smoosh (smoosh had recently been profiled in american girl magazine).

cool light up controls, and you could record the radio which was basically like getting infinite free music to my young mind. sick little machine

Finally lighting the candle you’ve held onto because it smelled so good that you wanted to keep it forever but then lost it; reunited a few years later. Just to light it in your new apartment.

Trying my best to revert back to being optimistic, but I will make an exception for ticket scalpers. I absolutely love live music, but have missed dozens of concerts that I could afford because of reselling prices. It's inevitable to want to see a show from a big artist now and again, but go to your local venue or bar for good live music too. You never know who's going to be there.
