And most of them come with easy software mods so you can do random shit w/ them
Also ps2 doubles as a DVD player, so that gets 1000000000 points right there

I haven’t owned a console for a long time and haven’t rly been interested in video games since I was a teenager but as I mentioned I got a ps2 in past recs, its been bringing me lots of joy in these winter months

It’s a fantastic, underrated console of it’s era that sadly failed due to it’s library not being able to compete with it’s other console contemporaries.
REGARDLESS, it has some great famous games and hidden gems and it‘s just so dang cool… it was the first console to feature internet connection AND the fucking memory card doubles as a detachable mini handheld console that you can play games on!! Plus, when you have the memory card plugged into your controller, it sometimes displays little graphics that are themed after the game you’re playing. Ain't that just the darnedest and neatest thang??

if you’re technologically literate and played video games when you were you get, you might have an untapped fountain of joy waiting to be discovered under a bed somewhere.
consoles that many a gen y/z‘er played in their youth often have a community of people dedicated to cracking their software wide open and making them do things that their manufacturers never intended, like playing pirat— I mean legally acquired game files instead of paying for expensive discs, or enabling mods and developer settings, or even running emulators for other game consoles. My PS2 can emulate an original game boy advance now. why? I’m not sure, but it’s funny.
google your consoles name plus homebrew (the name for custom software) or custom firm ware or hack and you’ll find a guide for the unique process people have developed to hack it.

took a spontaneous trip to see the new alien movie today
ive never been to see a horror movie alone at the cinema before so it felt all the more immersive for me, would recommend going to get scared alone even if you’re a scaredy-cat like me :)
