Suspiria (1977)

I'd always wanted to watch this but finally stumbled upon it when I was browsing kanopy the other day. This film is the most stunning thing I've ever watched. What Dario Argento does with color is incredible. I'm still thinking about some of these shots. also an enjoyable film as a whole, I was hooked from the beginning.
p.s. if you're a big baby like me when it comes to horror, this one isn't bad because it was made before effects got too real

this movie captured the feeling of having a nightmare better than any other horror movie i've ever seen and i love it so much for that. the clunkiness (complimentary) of the script and editing make it feel a little bit random and all the more unsettling and dreamlike. the new one is also a great movie and much freakier but it definitely doesn't do that

corduroy it was the most beautiful, terrifying fever dream. I’m interested in the new one if it’s not too graphic. I just know it won’t give me the same feeling as the original

rizkillla i ended up enjoying it about the same amount just for different reasons--it's beautifully made but the plot doesn't go very far and less unique in tone for sure

its definetly on the visually artistic side but it has very unsetteling and weird undertones. personally i would recomend you watch the 1977 version that was directed by Dario Argento first but if its not available the 2018 version is also very good :)

i don't know how i got all these recommendations and then i went ahead and watched a movie that no one recommended but fits the brief i proposed.. i do really appreciate all of the answers i got and i'm so excited to get into all of them :D regardless i thought i'd recommend this because i actually had a lot of fun watching it, the visuals are insanely cool and frankly, it's halloween, and this movie is kind of spooky. but it's more fun than spooky. so watch it if you haven't!! but you have probably already seen it ... maybe i'll watch guadagnino's remake soon and see how they compare.

if you grew up being a people pleaser like me, it can be so damn hard to set boundaries. but it was so great when I finally realized I simply didn’t have to say yes to everything/everyone.
