i really consider this to be a candidate for best electronic album of the 2010s, almost for that decade what Daft Punk’s Discovery was for the 2000s. this album showcases such a breadth of electronic styles; with house, drum and bass, dubstep, and even some vocal driven radio cuts and ambient/orchestral tracks. it’s an ambitious and beautifully arranged concept album that flows front to back seamlessly (the bonus tracks after Departure excluded, but those tracks are great). Nero presents some of the most well produced cuts in bass music (Me & You, Reaching Out, Innocence, Won’t You Be There, Must Be the Feeling) and definitely reached a pinnacle of the midrange dubstep/electro house styles that were developing at the time. plus the Promises VIP with Skrillex is a classic. this one’s for the OG UK bass heads, the EDM festival Kandi Kids, and the American MLG montage gamers alike.
