i am literally at a poetry reading and my roommate is my only audience and also it's in my kitchen and i always get snaps. sometimes you look back on the things you write and recognize that, yes, you are talented and, yes, it is good to share.

a creative writing and language exercise yes, but also perfect for lovers of rabbit holes - you have to hunt for social, historical context to do many poems justice. you get to wrestle with tricky idioms and niche reference and emerge with some scars.
it has become one of my most cherished hobbies. if you’re even a beginner at a language and love poetry, take a crack at it.
also! bilingual poetry editions are the best ❣️

HAPPY INTERNATIONAL WORKER’S DAY!!!! i love having a union, i love being a union steward and getting to support my unit. when my union won its contract, i got a pay bump, better benefits, and increased protection as a worker. 🥳
unions help address racial and gender pay gaps, issues workplaces impose on families and those having kids, addressing unsafe conditions, plus things like better health insurance, wages and overtime, weingarten rights to representation, and more!!!
