i found some cheese in the back of my fridge. no mold. it tasted good on crackers until it didn’t. this is the kind of content i should write on my substack.

I’m moving in two weeks so my fridge is in a sad state of affairs maybe I’ll post it later if I’m feeling brave. For now three staples I’ve previously photographed which I nearly always have in my fridge: 1. Berkshire pork bacon from the farmers market 2. Kirkland signature Parmesan 3. Kirkland signature 95% grass-fed New Zealand butter

it was move in day at college. my new roommate offered me one of her favorite snacks, a babybel cheese. I had never heard of them before, but trying to make friends, I made a big deal about how they *too* were my favorite snack of all time. first thing I do is bite into the red protective wax, wincing, saying how good it was...she stared at me in shock and told me what I did. Embarrassed and caught, we laughed about it all night. we lived together for 3 years after that :-)

made a joke post on substack notes that i honestly still think is pretty funny but it turns out it went whoosh right over a lot of peoples' heads, especially on twitter people thought it was serious,—and so here i am with my phone blowing up because friends and people i haven't heard from in years are just seeing it on their feeds and texting me allll about it
