THE lesbian movie. if you're into brokeback mountain, westerns, slow burns, classic movies, this is your movie. it has a weird mix of 80s nostalgia and 50s vibes, characters look very 80s but the soundtrack is the 50s soundtrack of my dreams. so so good, give it a watch if you can

saw this for the first time at my local mirco cinema with a partner who was not yet a woman. it was so fun! it was the first time i heard a dyke call themselves a faggot. it was the first time i thought about wlw bdsm and the first time i considered my own relationship to "violent" sex without men. a few years later, i think i'm due for a rewatch. i remember really loving the diy construction and being jazzed by how many stl mentions there were. it seems like we had a thriving leather and bdsm culture. it's because of this film that i visited the leather museum in chicago and got to read about stl's historical bdsm conventions (amazingly called "beat me in st. louis"). history aside, it's a great flick if you love anything diy, gay, and/or 90s <3

I have no idea how I had never seen this before let alone how it’s considered one of David Lynch’s weaker works. Maybe the most fun I have ever had with a movie. I was 100% locked in from start to finish.
This is a film for REAL LOVERS, Sailor and Lula make Gomez and Morticia seem nonchalant, just insane chemistry on screen too

one of the best concept albums of all time. follows a young woman named Ethel Cain (the character, not the artist) as she encounters various men and eventually meets her violent death at the hands of one of the men. truly visceral and even disturbing at some parts but so so good, really recommend giving it a listen
