especially from smaller artists. when you go to a show, buy their CDs! buy their vinyls! this is their livelihood. support your local bands (if they sound good). and once you hear that shit on your record player it will sound 100x better than spotify. and you’ll have it forever (who knows what will happen to streaming).

if artists sell it themselves at a show, even better. as long as you have a way to digitize, you get the benefit of cool physical media and a way to listen on whatever app you use. probably costs around the same as what you'd pay for the album on bandcamp and for sure less than a record nowadays

There's a lot of advantages to physically owning music. It supports the artist and ensures that the music remains yours even if it's taken off streaming or the platform closes down. Plus, vinyl and CD tend to have considerably better audio quality. If you can, it's always better to have the physical media
