hands down the best recommendation i’ve ever gotten from anyone in my life was from my dear friend Brody. he told me to listen to this record. he described it as british, savvy, tech, girly. it fucking sparkles. why more people aren’t talking about Miss Minogue… beats me.
i pride myself on my music taste and open palette. ive covered a lot of ground in the world of indie rock, yacht rock, slowcore/shoegaze, goth metal, 80s british alternative, britpop, triphop and so forth. but listening to Kylie Minogues Body Language album opened up a new door for me. what ppl were doing with pop music in this time somehow escapes modern music critics. britney, madonna, rachel stevens (iykyk) are all examples of artists who saw pop music as some sort of expression of complex femininity and emotion. kylie i think found the most sonic success in this time.
my fav tracks are Chocolate, Promises, and the beautiful Someday. pls listen and enjoy

I've always been one to explore my Spotify curated playlists and recently I found this new artist called XKYLAR. The best way to explain her music is like Slut Pop meets The Dare. She is such a talented visual artist doing tour visuals for artists like Kim Petras and other big names. Her music I think is truly underrated and She is writing the slutty club bangers we are all asking for. With songs like "SLUT" and "HOT" how can you not dance and have a good time?

today's song recommendation is ray of light by madonna
the ultimate white woman's power anthem. this is the song you listen with your wired headphones in, strutting down city streets with an iced drink in hand, on your way to lunch with your best friend at the hot new day drinking spot.
this is a song i return to constantly for its power to uplift, inspire, and embolden.
title track to the album of the same name, ray of light was released as a single and instantly became an international hit — blasting out the speakers of every cafe, club, and bedroom belonging to a girl who would tune into the first episode of sex and the city just four months later. this album was a huge stylistic depature from madonna's previous sound, and the incredible fusion and incorporation of trip hop, techno pop, and electronica redefinied the mainstream pop landscape forever.
this album was madonna shouting to the world that she had found herself, had redefined who she was yet again, regardless of age and expectation. this song is an encouragement to listeners to do the same, to be free, to find yourself a little piece of heaven.

i absolutely love her down and think this is some of her best, most beautiful work. i don’t see many talking about this album as much as her others. her voice is gorgeous here, of course. there’s an ancient, all knowing quality to this record that isn’t as present on her other ones. also hands down one of the cuntiest album covers i’ve ever seen.

science and medicine has progressed enough to the point where women can opt to stop having periods. i’ve had two hormonal IUDs over the course of 8 years now, and therefore haven’t had a period in 8 years. no cramps. no heating pads. no cravings. no tampons. nothing.
every womens body is different and i can’t promise everyone will have the same experience ive had with my IUDs. but if your periods suck like mine did, it can’t hurt to ask a doctor ab going on some sort of HRT/birth control. why are we still letting our uteruses dictate and manage our lives for one week out of every month? (for some, like myself at one point, well over just one week)
not having a period is great! it’s freeing!!!!! i feel as if i can put my personhood and identity first, and not sacrifice any sort of happiness or autonomy to my uterus!

she’s timelessly hilarious and witty. i stream the show on peacock and put it on during the day while doing chores and such. i’ve shocked myself by laughing out loud at times, who knew something so dated could be so effortlessly goofy. love her so much.
