it won the pulitzer in the 80s and is immensely readable, about a bunch of cowboys in texas in the 1870s. i have never liked a western and am enjoying this!
Wonderful book. Steinbeck‘s observations about the marine biology expedition he and his friend Ed Ricketts made in 1940 off the coast of California = a fascinating, thoughtful & quietly moving meditation on life itself, really. I love this book
