6th Ave and 4th st! Their open mic is on Thursdays and was one of my favorite things to do ever. A wild mix of okay comedy and amazing world music. Really strange array of people.

Last night, I attempted to go to the Alice Coltrane art exhibition opening at the Hammer in LA (but despite showing up early they‘d already hit capacity for the event womp womp)
Anyways I had it booked if this happened I’d head to the World Stage in Leimert Park just 20-minutes east for some jazz. And y’all… it’s been on my list to get to this side of town and check it out - blown away. Amazing talent coming through here.
If you’re a fan of jazz, please check it out. I’ll for sure be back ☆♪

There's a neat kombucha bar / music venue in town, and it's one of my favorite places to see music. Pretty much exclusively indie/punk shows, but a friend asked us to play there, and we brought a very different vibe with our old time/bluegrass/folk stuff. Everyone was so nice, and it was fun to merge two sort of different worlds that share a DIY ethos

Finally went to this local record/vintage store near me! Had such a great time and it was totally a last minute thing :)
Hung out with friends, made some new ones, heard some good live music, and had a lot of belly laughs 😭😭

Going to restaurants alone and phoneless! Being in traffic! Having your train be stuck on the subway! Being incredibly early to things! Waiting is an extremely exciting activity if you let it be. Just sitting around and noticing things, noticing your body, noticing how you feel
