This isn't really a daily journaling app BUT the formatting is all really simple. A to do list is very simple to set up, you can make a board with each little block with a to do list assigned a day and can take and put on to dos as you like. I like it bc it's simple, intuitive, it's cute (I love beveled edges...) and I like the color options, I like the ease of making separate boards so some boards can just be dumping spaces or brainstorming or collections. I think there are templates you can just use. Hope this helps :) ! I pair it with bullet journaling (i recommend to ignore the super artistic way ppl tend to do it... it's meant to be simple!.. but if being artsy appeals ofc u can if it doesn't get in the way of doing it every day)

At a certain age, a good percentage of your self-worth comes from finishing stuff. I know we’re supposed to stop being hard on ourselves, but that’s sort of unrealistic, so might as well be efficient. Using iPhone Notes is ok for drafting stuff, but not as a to-do list. For paper lists I use the Action Method notebooks that Ghostly distributes. I have very very bad handwriting though so I've probably used 10 different apps over the years. I’ve found that I don’t really need features and folders. So this is dumb simple, and something about the action and sounds it makes it fun to add to. BUT, buyer beware, this app seems to be phased out by the developer, so play at your own risk.

love using it for planners, trackers, to-do lists, and even brainstorming for creative projects
there's enough customization for it to feel personal, but not SO much that I can endlessly procrastinate with the customization features lmao
as an android user who doesn't have icloud, I also love an app where I can log in on both mobile and desktop

i love this app because it feels like a more grown-up, more purposeful Notes app with better design. it’s made for essays or poetry or whatever you want to throw in and it even lets you set a daily journaling time so that you can work some writing into each day. it allows you to access photos, contacts, locations, and events from your calendar while also providing prompts if you’re at a loss for what to say. i’ve found it to be really helpful when i need to get something off my mental, but don’t have my typical paper and pen. hopefully it can be of some use to some of you ¨̮

For the Californians I can offer https://calscape.org/. If you just look up "[location] native plant society" that should lead you in the right direction. I just love learning about the land I'm on and having a neat list of plants adapted to and thriving in the area, maybe you do too.

I hold a grudge against this one because it was maybe twice that I affirmed that I was talking to someone and they meant "talking". This became a thing all of a sudden when I was in college and I got the memo very late. Hate it hate it hate it, it feels so glib and detached and too cool.

Just a podcast with three guys talking about albums track by track. It's just very cozy and authentic. They just dropped an episode for Emmylou Harris's Pieces of the Sky album.
