NYC is more than just Manhattan!!!!!!!!! Go to queens and get south Asian and Central American food in Jackson heights, and keep trucking along the 7 and get Chinese food in flushing. Go to Astoria and get Greek or Brazilian or Egyptian food and walk to Long island city and enjoy the views and go to one of several museums there.
Go to crown heights in Brooklyn and eat Caribbean food. Go to prospect park and see a park that’s not Central Park too. Go to bushwick and thrift and get tacos at nenes.
Go to the Bronx and go to THAT little Italy and eat a PHAT sandwich. Go to the Bronx botanical gardens bc they’re beautiful.
Even go to Staten Island and get Sri Lankan food at lakruwama and get Italian ice at Ralph’s and pretend you’re a 4th gen Italian with chest hair and a chain just because you can.
This city is truly so big, so explore it and see all it has to offer!

So of course if you’ve never been, do the touristy things too like Times Square and the monuments and be unapologetic about it, don’t let anyone judge you for having fun just because you’re a tourist. Also if you do the Empire State Building it tends to be cheaper after sunset, there are no lines, and it’s nice to be up with way fewer people. Oh my gosh and I love the Brooklyn bridge actually, walk the Brooklyn bridge.
For pizza, I posted about it recently but L’Industrie has some great pizza by the slice, they have two locations now. My favorite slice is the fig jam and bacon🤤 For the swifties the newer location is not too far from Cornelia st💀
In the fidi area there’s a small coffee shop, Simpl, on Nassau. It’s originally a Ukrainian brand so they have a Ukrainian drink called a raf, or they have these amazing strawberry lattes and matchas. The most important part though? GET A CARDAMOM BUN. I became obsessed with them the first time I had one.
Go to the Met. Literally one of my favorite museums, it’s so big and there’s so much to see, there are new exhibits throughout the year.
The Brooklyn botanical garden is pretty and there are plenty of free days throughout the year.
Chinatown!!! I am a huge fan of Chinatown in NYC, so many good food options (I’m very food motivated when I travel if you haven’t noticed lol). There are dim sum places, ice cream, boba, so many things all next door to each other. Honestly, you could also find plenty of cheap souvenirs for people lol.

A long stroll around prospect park is always nice I think. I also recommend getting some trini food or just general Caribbean food since kings is in Flatbush and you’ll be near crown heights. I recommend A&A bake, Allan’s, or Gloria’s. Also, take the Q down to Coney Island and walk around the boardwalk since it’s more off season right now and pretend you’re a city kid about to ride a roller coaster, treat yourself to a lemonade, and head back up.
Edit: San gennaro also starts this weekend. Annual Italian festival for a saint. I don’t know much else about it except that every person ever comes to little Italy and that you can get sausage and peppers in the street

I took it in a canon rebel g that I was lucky enough to find at an estate sale for about $20 and it’s by far my favorite pic I’ve ever taken! I think the film is like fujifilm ISO 400 or something idk but I love the colors it brings out
