you need to talk about it!!!! and not internalize it!!! talk to your best friend, a third party, your coworker, your mom, a stranger on the internet, a therapist!.... i'm begging you to just talk to someone if you're going through something, no matter how big or small or unimportant it may seem, please don't internalize your feelings. life is so much better and easier when you communicate <3

if you're stuck on something it's nice to get a big metaphorical smack across the noggin by a clear-eyed confidante, whether it's a homie or a family member or a therapist that can give you a fresh and radical perspective and stop you from rutting around in the circle of repetitive brooding. If you've been trying to work something out or been engaging in some negative self talk, ask someone to listen for a few mins and then tell you that you're being ridiculous. everyone needs it sometimes.

with others, to pets, and you know what! even talking to yourself from time to time... sometimes you just need to verbalize the thoughts that have overstayed their welcome in your brain to actually be able to process them better. make them a tangible thing instead of this ephemeral wisp that keeps bouncing around restlessly inside your cranium.

you don't need therapy, you need to talk about it on the phone loudly and in public.

i just saw this tweet and oh goodness. my heart hurts for the op, and the message is just so... spot on? energy that's unreciprocated seriously hurts so bad. when your whimsy isn't appreciated, when the simple joys you partake in are crushed by anyone, especially a partner..... oh no honey RUN. a relationship like this is so unfulfilling, you deserve a person who's all in on you finding childlike wonder in the littlest, most mundane things. for the dreamers, the idealistic, such as myself - don't let anyone dull your sparkle like this. that's all <3 queuing hit me where it hurts by caroline polachek as we speak

you can replace cringe with really any adjective you like, but cringe is the one i gravitate to the most. living unapologetically as my truest self is the most important thing to me as i've gotten older. the right people will be in your corner, will love your "cringe", or whatever it may be. because there's nothing as freeing as being yourself. words applicable to me that i could replace cringe with: crazy (a classic) silly annoying (lovingly)
