Mine is almost 18 yo. Just learned it has Wolfson DAC which is kind of valued nowadays. Well, good to know and another reason to appreciate it besides the memories of being a teenager with headphones in all the time
Love this album by London Grammar btw. Reminds me of my early twenties

I'm not old, but I was eavesdropping on a conversation from highschoolers and they were talking about Sophie and hearing Stereolab for the first time. It was quite wholesome to hear them get excited about, and it brought me back to where I was and how I came about them and other artists I loved then

i was 15 when i discovered musical consciousness. Before i would just listen to the charts and not really feel the need to use music as a vessel of self expression. I was 15 when i got spotify. I remember the music being: George Ezra, The Beatles, The Blues Brothers, Avicii, and then a lot of generic pop. When i turned 16, i remember finding Green Day and The Rolling Stones for the first time. i think they were the only 2 bands i listened to for the entire year of 2016. Then i found a band called "The Frights" in late 2016, through Billie Joe's son's band "SWMRS". The frights have led me to where i am now
I think it's really cool seeing how my music has changed through the years. I think music dictates a person more than their clothes and most other interests. My spotify liked songs is my journey from a boy to a man, and i think that's pretty neat

I haven’t been here for more than half a year, can’t even say why (although no, I can, but I won’t).
And luckily it didn’t change, it’s still a cozy and friendly community with love for the best things modernity has. Thanks for saving it as it is.

I recently discovered mine, Samsung CD Yepp to be exact, and it changed the way I listen to music.
I started listening to full albums again instead of just singles you can easily stream. For me it’s not about sound quality, although it matters of course, but mostly about consciousness.
Since then I collected my mini-collection of CDs I will pass to my children.
Kinda regret I got rid of old phones, especially BenQ-Siemens EL71, but hope to thrift it one day
