Example for me here: The part in Meet Me In The Bathroom here from about 2:03 to 2:25, where Julian says “meet me in the bathroom that’s what she said…” finds the little guitar bridge to “never was on timeee” always gives me such a wistful frisson.
a bit too on the nose? it may be the second song on the album but it’s perfect for ending things on a hopeful/optimistic note before i run into the woods at the end of the movie.
succinctly captures the sinking feeling of hearing bad news and things taking a turn for the worse. despite the bleak nature of the lyrics, the song is incredibly mesmerizing and i can’t stop listening to it
