I might like this solo album better than any of his band's work, which is saying something.

This is a great folk album from John Martyn! There’s a couple of covers but most are originals, really beautiful lyricism and overall sound. This album is reminiscent of a lot of British folk music and was released during the 60’s, amazingly he recorded this when he was just 19!

I'm generally not a fan of "road" songs from famous musicians, they're just too prone to cliche
But Mick lets us peek behind the mask here to see how empty the pop life really is.
No Keef on this track (he was notoriously unreliable around this time due to his drug habit)
Just Mick and Mick Taylor doing the all night studio thing
with some lovely strings tacked on.
IMO one of the Stones' most underrated songs.

Newly turned on to Mick Karn (thanks Dakota) and realized today that his song 'Dreams of Reason' feels and sounds a little similar to 'Todos Santos' by Horvitz Morris Previte Trio' which appears on this really lovely comp 'Time is Away - Ballads.'
I can't guarantee you'll agree with me, but at the very least, they're both nice songs you should give a listen.
