I took two of my best friends out to a screening of one of my favorite movies: “Vive L’amour” directed by Tsai Ming-liang and starring Lee Kang-sheng. It was my 28th birthday and both the director and star had traveled from Taiwan earlier that day to be there for a Q&A. I hesitantly got to ask the director a question:”What was your favorite movie when you we’re young?” Although they spoke little English he responded directly to me and said: “Many, many.” It was shown at the Aero in Santa Monica. I had the time of my life.
One of the most impossibly beautiful films of all time, getting rereleased, with an accompanying short! If you get the opportunity to catch this, you totally should - Wong Kar Wai on a big screen is not something to miss!
i would sell my soul to watch this film for the first time again. just stunning…so much said with very few words & each frame lingers for just the right amount of time
Saw this year and wS absolutely my favourite movie I watched this year. The yearning and sadness thats always lingering in every single shot of this film lives rent free inside my head♥️♥️
