Debussy transcends his Impressionist roots for a new century. Bolder and more striking melodies and themes for a new world, marching into the future.
Also, can we bring back Gilded Age fashion? This girl's outfit is adorable as hell.
I have been in a such a dry spell with new music lately so I've returned to my old classical music playlists:
ravel:
Jeux D'Eau
Gaspard de la nuit (Ondine specifically)
Piano Trio in A Minor (mvt 1)
Daphnis Et Chloe: Lever Du Jour
String Quartet in F major
barber:
Cello Concerto op.22 mvt 1
debussy:
string quartet in g major
la plus que lente
violin sonata in g minor mvt 2
poulenc:
Sonata for cello and piano--mvt 2 and 3
I liked the synthesis of flavors whenever I had the chance to freely indulge in this combo during my college days. Might be too saucy and boozy for some, but I am a sauce guy and a true og Borracho.
