guyssss i start school this sunday and i’m going to a new school in a totally different neighbourhood, any tips?? low-key it’s scary and it makes my stomach flip but I’m excited nonetheless! Especially since i strongly disliked my old school, so I have high hopes for this school🤞 and this year is really important since i’m now a sophomore (im crying hysterically) i need all the wishes and prayers

hope it goes well! ive found that activities like sports and clubs are always a good way to meet new people without it feeling too forced - good luck! i know that nervous feeling too well unfortunately...

First day of school
Even now as an old decrepit grad student and prof, the first day of school continues to fill me with wonder. What will my classes be like? Will I see anyone I know? I have a bag full of unused notebooks and pens. I somehow have not a care in the world and a feeling of dread. It’s lovely that some things stay exactly the same.

i havent been in school for ~4 yrs, but this time of year still fills me with that same kind of "back to school" anticipation.... bright days, cool breezes, scattering leaves.... "gee, i hope my crush is in my English class" ahh type feel....

eye contact
why does everyone avoid eye contact? in my opinion, eyes are the doors to the soul. i genuinely love looking people in the eye when i’m speaking to them, i think it makes the conversation more intresting and it makes me feel like they are paying attention when i'm talking. i’ve also noticed that this is a habit people with great social skills adhere, and i really admire that. approximately most people i’ve met usually try to abstain from eye contact, and unfortunately it makes them look insecure and uncertain in themselves.
