It may be my avoidant or counter culture tendencies, but with the prevalence of brat summer I wanna go in the opposite direction with this bluegrass album. I feel a resurgence in actual country music now that post-9/11 reactionary conservative country has gone full on brain rot. (it literally struck me so hard when I realized pop-country music is just childrens music for maga.) So I’m happy to start finding the true voices of the genre.
Holy shit. Country music playing at Grandaddy on the LES? Is it actually coming back, or is this just a perfect storm (since I’ve been exploring it as of late).
I love everything by Ottessa but Lapvona is probably my favorite. It is such a disgusting and hilarious look. I love how unafraid she is of the human condition.
