Before there was the musical, there was the Adrienne Shelley film. This film is so dear to me. it’s so tender and full of complex characters and so obviously made by women.
Beautiful and moving and an incredible cast…Pam’s monologue made me cry. If you love WOMEN and beautiful costumes and Jamie Lee Curtis, give it a watch
this movie transports me to a different world. but it also has such real feelings of womenhood. there's like a 30 minute ballet seen in the middle and it's crazy. leaves you feeling very empty but it's so damn good.
Watched this yesterday on a whim and immediately fell in love. One of the most colorful and energetic films you'll ever see, both in terms of cinematography AND performances!
