I used to do them in the mornings to help wake up my brain, but there is something so satisfying about laying down after a busy day and relaxing with my little word games. I now prefer it.

I love my little NYTimes games ritual (start with easy Sudoku, then medium Sudoku, Connections, Crossword, hard Sudoku, Tiles, and finally Spelling Bee if I feel really locked in). Still, the brain health benefits and fun of these puzzles feel diminished when I realize this is HOURS of unnecessary screen time. I switched my daily puzzle ritual from online to a paperback, and I have never been happier. I feel so zen doing my sudoku outside like a fucking monk.

Before bed. No phone. Brain is in a prime state for wordplay. Sends you straight to sleep with book falling out of your hand.

I like this habit because it allows my mind to wake up with something new every day. It prevents me from getting right onto social media

Breaking my very thin, almost non existent air of mystery because I got a haircut I actually like, my favorite jeans fit again, it’s a full moon eclipse, 70Β°, and both of my kids’ birthdays are today!! MAGIC IS REAL AND I AM FULL OF LOVE! πŸ’— πŸ’—πŸ’—πŸ’—πŸ’—πŸ’—
